Studies of superheavy nuclei are revealing unstable structures and shapes and an unexpected variety of resonance, cluster and decay phenomena. In this paper we use the simple models for the nuclear structure and decay dynamics to predict the half-lives for α-decay and spontaneous fission of yet unaccessible superheavy elements Z=119-122. In the adopted formalism the parameters of formula for half-lives are obtained from the systematics of measured and calculated decay quantities (reaction energies Q and half-lives T). The comparison of predicted half-lives with models with and without nuclear structure ( i.e. microscopic shell and "one-body" models) to available data proves the very important role of nuclear shell structure in stability of superheavy elements. The spectroscopic information on α-decay results from the ratio between the calculated rates with the microscopic (shell model) and one-body resonance (asymptotic) formation amplitudes. Recent I advances in locating a possible center of a new island of stability at the closed shells Z=120 and N=172 or 184 are reviewed.
