apoma Laboratory was set up in the Institute of Atomic Physics, Magurele-Bucharest, Romania, in 1980s, with the aim of investigating theoretical aspects of the condensed matter physics. In the intervening time the laboratory acquired a pretty fair expertise in several areas of research in this field, listed below. The laboratory has also developed skills in other branches of theoretical physics, such as nuclear physics, atomic physics, materials science, physical chemistry, etc. The Laboratory teamed, at various times, an average of 4-5 researchers, and published, on the average, cca 10 scientific papers per year, steadily, in internationally refereed journals. It maintains an electronic archive (http://archive.theory.nipne.ro), which offers, among others, two electronic journals (J. Theor. Phys. and Antiphys. Rev.). More information is to be found at http://www.theory.nipne.ro/~apoma. The main areas of expertise in theoretical condensed matter physics are:
1. Low-dimensional quantum gases and liquids At present the group includes (mainly): M. Apostol, M. Bundaru, F. D. Buzatu, Geta Vaman, N. Marinescu, L. C. Cune. They can be contacted at the address above. |
