First circular/ 01.10.2010 -------------------------- We are pleased to announce the interdisciplinary conference "Advanced many-body and statistical methods in mesoscopic systems" June 27 - July 2, 2011, at "Ovidius" University, Constanta, Romania The conference is organized by: -"Horia Hulubei" National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH), Magurele-Bucharest, Romania -Academy of Romanian Scientists, Constanta branch -"Ovidius" University, Constanta, Romania The main goal of this interdisciplinary conference is to bring together scientists working in various areas of mesoscopic physics, from nanoscale condensed matter physics to nuclear physics, in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas and theoretical techniques, as well as the interaction between theorists and experimentalists. The Conference topics are the following: # Foundations of the quantum physics # Equilibrium and non-equilibrium quantum statistics, including fractional statistics # Quantum transport # Phases and phase-transitions in mesoscopic systems, including superfluidity and superconductivity # Quantum electromechanical systems # Quantum dissipation, dephasing, noise and decoherence # Quantum information - theory and applications # Spin systems and their dynamics # Fundamental symmetries in mesoscopic systems # Phase transitions # Exactly solvable models # Various extension of the Random Phase Approximation # Open quantum systems # Clustering, decay and fission modes # Systematic versus random behavior of nuclear spectra The organizing committee: Dragos-Victor Anghel (National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Magurele-Bucharest, Romania) Sorin Paraoanu (Low Temp. Lab., Aalto University, Finland) Doru-Sabin Delion (National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Magurele, Ilfov, Romania) Local organizing committee: Victor Ciupina ("Ovidius" University Constanta, Romania) Contact addresses: dragos@theory.nipne.ro delion@theory.nipne.ro paraoanu@cc.hut.fi
