ABSTRACT:
While the most of the subroutines in the existing software libraries for scientific computation are of general, unspecific use, there is an increasing pressure for developing subroutines specially tailored for specific problems. Such ad-hoc modules are usually called as belonging to the second generation software. The talk is aimed at presenting a few subroutines of this type, from the perspective of a physicist. Typical numerical operations on functions (differentiation, integration, solving differential equations, interpolation) will be considered. |
