Grigore Moisil Prize 

National Grand Lodge of Romania awarded the Prizes on Friday, June 21, 2013, in
collaboration with the Romanian Academy.

Gala, which took place on Friday, 21 at the Romanian Athenaeum, offered prizes of
10,000 EUR from seven categories like science, medicine, economics, arts and
IT.  Each category has three nominees.  

Candidates for the awards are nominated by NGLR lodges across the country to committees
dealing with nominations.  For this year's edition there were 430 proposals from which were 
selected 21 nominees.  Winners will be appointed by a committee composed of 33 academicians 
and university professors.

I. The nominees for the "Grigore Moisil" exact science prize are:

1. Stefan Papadima, Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy, for the group of
five papers in topology and algebraic geometry published in Romania and abroad in 2012;

2. Vicentiu Radulescu and Marius Ghergu with the work: "Partially nonlinear differential 
equations in the study of biology, chemistry and genetics" Published by Springer in 2012;

3. Dorin Poenaru, Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Magurele, for his works 
on alpha decay.
