Scope of the Conference:

Mesoscopic structures are between "not so few-" and "not too many-" body quantum systems. Good examples of such systems are complex atoms, molecules and nuclei, nanostructures etc. They exhibit specific finite size properties like fluctuations, dissipative phenomena, collective excitations, superfluidity, shell and clustering effects. The methods employed in the description of such systems try to match the few-body quantum mechanics with many-body techniques and thermodynamics.

The main goal of this interdisciplinary conference is to bring together scientists working in various areas of mesoscopic physics, from nanoscale condensed matter physics to nuclear physics, in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas and theoretical techniques, as well as the interaction between theorists and experimentalists.

Location:

Buşteni is situated in the center or Romania, in the Carpathians mountains, in the middle of a well known touristic area.

Travel

  • Buşteni is situated 125 km North of Bucharest, along DN1 (National Road 1), which is in good condition and can be accessed very easily. The resort can be reached from Bucharest by train, car, bus or mini-bus. For the participants that require transportation, the organizers will supply it from the airport.
